mTagger reads the M-Pesa messages on your phone, works out what each payment was, and adds it up. There is no account to make and no sign-in — it does its work on the device, whether or not you have a connection.

Grant SMS access once and the first launch works through the last 90 days of M-Pesa messages in your inbox. After that each new one is picked up as it arrives. It recognises sending, receiving, paybill, buy goods, withdrawals, M-Shwari, bank transfers and airtime.
A known till, paybill or name is filed straight away and never asked about. Where mTagger had to guess it says so, and the guess waits in a queue that tells you what it picked and why — with a day to answer before it settles on its own.
Daily and monthly totals under headings you control, with transaction costs kept separate so you can see what the fees alone came to.
There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. mTagger shows ads, and that is the only reason it ever touches the network — nothing read from your messages is part of that request, and nothing derived from them is used to target it.
Change the same counterparty three times and mTagger writes the rule itself, then applies it to everything still unconfirmed. What you have already agreed to is never revisited.
Every automatic tag comes from a rule you can open, retarget or delete — and rewriting one re-runs it over the backlog it was written for.
Housing, transport, food, utilities, going out, wealth building. Rename them, nest them or build your own; anything already tagged follows the change.
Give a number you send to often a name, and its whole history takes the name.
A message mTagger cannot read is kept rather than dropped, and shown to you — so a format it has never seen can be reported instead of quietly lost.
